What's New on Open-Maths.com: Smarter AI, Deeper Challenges, and a Better Experience

We are excited to announce a series of major updates to Open-Maths.com! Our mission has always been to provide a robust, community-driven platform for math enthusiasts of all levels. With these latest changes, we've made the platform smarter, faster, and more engaging than ever before.

Here is a breakdown of what has changed and how it improves your learning experience.

🧠 Smarter, Faster AI

We have significantly upgraded the AI engine that powers our problem generation, verification, and explanation systems.

Parallel Processing: We now utilize a parallel processing strategy that queries multiple advanced AI models simultaneously (including `gemini-3-pro` and `gemini-3-flash`). This results in faster response times and higher reliability.

Proof Verification: A new, dedicated "Proof Verification" system allows you to submit written mathematical proofs. The AI now acts as a strict professor, grading your logic and rigor with a simple "CORRECT" or "INCORRECT" verdict.

Smart Timeouts: We've implemented intelligent timeout handling to ensure that the interface never "hangs" while waiting for an AI response.

📚 Expanded Problem Universe

The core of Open-Maths is its problem set, and we have expanded it massively.

New Difficulty Scale (1-25): We have refined our difficulty rating system. Levels now range strictly from 1 (Fundamentals) to 25 (Insanely Hard).

Olympiad Level Content: Levels 20 through 25 are now explicitly reserved for "Olympiad/Hard" problems, offering a true challenge for advanced competitive mathematicians.

Custom Problem Generator: You can now ask the AI to generate a unique problem on any specific topic and difficulty you choose, directly from the interface.

📖 Gradient Encyclopedia

Introducing the Gradient Encyclopedia – a powerful new resource for exploring mathematical concepts.

Curated Spotlights: Dive into topics like "Quadratic Equations" or "Calculus" with some articles featuring custom comics and AI-generated context that explains why the concept matters in the real world.

Integrated Knowledge: Search for any math term to instantly retrieve clear, technical definitions and explanations adapted from Wikipedia, formatted perfectly for dark mode.

Interactive Learning: Seamlessly jump between related concepts with smart linking, keeping you in the flow of learning.

🎮 Enhanced User Experience

We want learning math to be fun and streamlined. We've added several quality-of-life features to the frontend:

Daily Quests: Gamify your learning habit! Check the new "Daily Quests" modal to see challenges like "Solve 5 Algebra Problems" or "Maintain a 3-Day Streak" to earn bonus EXP.

Adaptive "QuizManager": Our new adaptive learning engine adjusts the difficulty of problems in real-time based on your performance. If you are breezing through problems, it will ramp up the challenge. If you are struggling, it will help you build confidence.

Integrated Tools: You no longer need to leave the tab. We have integrated a Desmos Graphing Calculator, a Scientific Calculator, and a Notepad directly into the problem-solving view.

Leaderboards: Compete with others! The new leaderboard view features tabs for both "Top Solvers" (by EXP) and "Top Contributors" (by problems added).

🛠️ Behind the Scenes

For the developers and contributors interested in the technical details:

Performance Optimization: We implemented a batching system for fetching problems, ensuring the site loads quickly even as our database grows to thousands of problems.

Duplicate Detection: A new Jaccard similarity filter runs on problem submission to prevent duplicates and keep our community database clean and high-quality.

We hope you enjoy these updates! As always, Open-Maths is a work in progress, and we value your feedback. Happy solving!
